Nisswa, MinnesotaThe city of Nisswa Minnesota has seen great change since its early days as a tiny logging settlement. Its resident populations of 1,400 is enlarged seasonally by a wave of visitors and summer residents. Although the city can count some industrial operations in its makeup, commercial services and tourism provide most of its economic base. Downtown Nisswa and the nearby highway commercial area contain nearly all of the goods and services desired by visitors and residents alike. Twenty-one area motels contain nearly 600 motel units. As a popular Gull Lake area vacation spot for many years, Nisswa has seen its tourism market grow to a multi-million dollar business. Many of the state's major resorts are in the immediate area. Historic Grand View Lodge on Gull Lake was built in 1921 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Trail Access and Parking Areas, and Rest Areas in Nisswa Minnesota
Location   Nisswa (Asphalt, 10 feet wide)
Mile 14.8   Nisswa trail access/parking lot and rest area. An information board is located here along with area amenities including bathroom facilities, bicycle shop, shopping, and food.
Mile 16.3   Lower Cullen Lake rest area. The trail right-of-way includes a small segment of the shoreline on Lower Cullen Lake. A pull-off, picnic tables, and a n interpretive sign focusing on shoreline management and lake ecology is planned for this area.
